General Forum Rules & Guidelines

You are invited to join the Slackers community and to participate on the forums. Slackers encourages a friendly, laid-back attitude. However, as with any online community, users are required to adhere to various rules and conditions to ensure the highest quality experience for everyone. By participating on the forums, users are affirming their willingness to comply with these terms.

1. Slackers enforces forum-specific rules on certain forums.
   These forum-specific rules apply in conjunction with the below rules.
2. No images or videos depicting graphic violence.
   Any posts or links to such content will be deleted and your account suspended or banned. This includes materials depicting violence or cruelty to animals.
3. No images or videos depicting nudity.
   With the sole exception of Adults Only (see forum-specific rules), no images or videos depicting nudity will be tolerated. Threads containing partial-nudity (eg. girls in bikinis) must be suffixed with a [PG] tag.
4. No warez (links) or cracks.
   This includes linking to illegally obtained software, movies & music files.
5. No Racism.
   This kind of behaviour will not be tolerated and will result in an immediate ban.
6. Personal attacks are prohibited.
   Personal attacks such as flaming or baiting are not tolerated at Slackers. We expect our long standing members to lead by example and assist newer members rather than attacking them. Members that reply to posts simply to instigate flame wars will be punished.
7. Members are expected to respect the decisions of moderators.
   Posts that are designed to question or challenge the authority of the moderators will not be tolerated. This will be treated as an attempt to instigate trouble and action will be taken against the thread-starter and/or participants. We ask that all personal problems be handled privately via the PM (Private Message) system. Warnings and bans are not to be discussed on the forums.
8. Stay on topic.
   If you want to discuss something that is drastically removed from the topic of a thread or forum then please take it to Misc. This forum has been created for general chat.
9. Posting etiquette.
   Use titles that describe the content of your post. Don't use all caps or special characters to draw attention. If you are quoting from another source, include a brief summary and supply a link to the original source.
10. Post in English.
    Slackers is an English-language forum. Out of respect for other members, please keep all comments in English. Content such as cartoons or jokes in another language may be permitted at the moderators' discretion depending on the context and use thereof.
11. No hot-linking of images or files.
    Linking to external images or files damages the integrity of your post and is not allowed. As a member, you have access to our upload service which will enable you to upload your image or file to our servers where it will remain indefinitely.
12. No avatar abuse.
    Avatars depicting profanity, nudity, violence or religious or racial discrimination will not be tolerated.
13. No signature abuse.
    To avoid signatures becoming an annoyance for other users, members are asked to keep their signatures to a reasonable size. As a guideline, try not to use more than 4 or 5 lines of text or if you have an in-line image in your signature, make sure that your entire signature is no taller than 400px. Keep the size of any images in your signature below 50KB. Signatures will be treated on an individual basis by the moderators. Additionally, signatures depicting profanity, nudity, violence or religious or racial discrimination will not be tolerated.
14. Do not post the contents of PMs (Private Messages) on the forums.
    Private Messages are to be kept private. Do not post the contents of PMs on the forums without the permission of all the parties involved.
15. No advertising.
    With the sole exception of For Sale (see forum-specific rules), advertising of your services or products is prohibited.
16. No alternate accounts.
    Should you be disciplined with a restriction or ban, you are not allowed to open a new account to obtain freedom to post. Restrictions and bans are given for a reason and usurping that ability by re-registering is not tolerated. If another account is opened, that account will be deleted immediately.
    Spoof accounts are also prohibited. If you already have a user account on Slackers you may not create a new account for the purposes of posting anonymously.
17. The administrator and moderators of Slackers reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread and remove or change any avatar, username or signature. We also reserve the right to suspend or ban any member account we see fit.
18. The comments and opinions posted are of their respective poster, and do not reflect the opinion of Slackers, it's owner(s) and or its staff.
19. Slackers reserves the right to change or alter these rules at any time.
